Heritage Seminary Scholarships

Robert Holmes Pastoral Leadership Scholarship
($750.00) - Awarded to an entering, full-time, males Master of Divinity student from a Fellowship Baptist Church who is recommended by his home church as showing leadership/pastoral ministry potential.

William Marshall Seminary Leadership Entrance Scholarship
(Up to $600) – Awarded to a full-time student entering a degree program who demonstrates leadership experience and potential as recommended by his/her references.

* Heritage Seminary Entrance Scholarship
(up to $4,800) – Awarded to Bible College and Christian University College graduates entering a Heritage Seminary degree program full-time and who have graduated with a minimum 3.00 accumulated grade point average (AGPA).

* Matching Entrance Scholarship
(Up to $1400) – For Bible College or University graduates entering a degree program full-time, who are recommended by their home church. The home church sponsors the student for an amount up to $500.00 (non-partner church) or $700.00 (partner church) and then Heritage matches the amount. Applicants must have a minimum Bachelor’s graduation AGPA of 3.00 or equivalent.

* Students may only apply for one of these 2 scholarships.

Seminary Returning Student Award

(Up to $3,200) – Awarded to returning Heritage Seminary students who have already completed at least five courses at Heritage Seminary and intend to enroll in at least six courses during the upcoming academic year.


Bursaries

Heritage awards bursaries as funds are donated for student assistance. Applications are available at the Registrar’s Office. Bursaries are normally awarded in the second year of a degree program.

Mahood Returning Student Bursary
($1000) – Awarded to one qualified Seminary student who has completed one year of his/her Master of Divinity studies. This scholarship is intended to ensure the legacy of Christian leadership desired by Rev. Kitchener Mahood.

Seniors Bursary
Seniors are eligible for a 50% discount on the comprehensive fee. “Senior” is defined as age 55 or over. This applies only to courses taken for credit, and does not apply to distance learning courses. Other associated fees are as stated in the fee schedule. This is only applicable to courses taken in Cambridge.

Married Student Bursary
The spouse of a full-time student will receive a 50% discount on the comprehensive fee. “Full-time” refers to a student taking at least 3 courses (minimum 9 credit hours). The spouse eligible for the discount is considered to be the one taking the fewer credit hours. The course(s) must be taken for credit. This is offered when both spouses are registered in the same semester or session.

Seminary Awards

Pittaway Award for Non-Graduating Academic Proficiency
($100.00) - Awarded to the non-graduating student who was enrolled full time and who had the highest AGPA for the current school year.

Graduating Academic Proficiency Award
($100.00) - Awarded to the graduating student who was enrolled full time and who had the highest AGPA for the current school year

Harold Stainton Hebrew Award
($100.00) - Awarded to a student who has done outstanding work in the area of Hebrew language studies.

Heritage Seminary Preaching Award
($100.00) - Awarded to a student involved in pastoral ministry who has shown exceptional character and excellence in preaching, in the classroom and in the church.

Charles & Olive Tipp Church History Award
($100.00) - Awarded to a student who has done outstanding work in the area of Church History studies.

Denzill E. Raymer Old Testament Award
($200.00) - Awarded to a student who has done outstanding work in the area of Old Testament studies.

W. Gordon Brown New Testament Award
($100.00) - Awarded to a student who has done outstanding work in the area of New Testament studies.

William and Leila Whitcombe Theology Award
($100.00) - Awarded to the graduating student with the highest average in theology courses.

Irene Robertson Loveday Christian Education Award
($100.00) - Awarded to a student who has demonstrated significant academic ability and involvement in Christian Education ministry.

Jack H. Watt Pastoral Ministry Award
($175.00) - Awarded to a student who shows significant gifts for and commitment to a ministry of pastoral care.

Mr. & Mrs. Alex McCready Award
($300.00) - Awarded to a student with a financial need who will be returning next fall for his or her final year; who demonstrates proficiency in potential ministry, Christian character, and academic responsibility; and who shows evidence of hard work, ambition, and the ability to set and accomplish goals.

Jack Scott Award
($250.00) - This award is presented to the most outstanding student graduating from a degree program who demonstrates, in an outstanding way, a balance among academic achievement, ministry involvement, and Christian character.
